Strip is updated later than usual today, my folks visited me over the weekend and, well, family (and wine) comes first!
Anyway, back on track this week with the fools. You will noticed that I did some changes regarding the balloons now drawn by hand and integrated to the panels.
This is actually an experiment and I need you advice.
- Do you like it that way now? Is it too much integrated to the panels? Should I keep the integration but go back to more geometrical balloons like before? Any other thought/comments?
Let me know
Cheers!
- Antoine

Antoine, at first I really didn’t see a lot of difference, but the slight variance in the lines in today’s comic really makes it look nice. It reminds me of some of my favorite comics. Very cool organic style. I would stick with the hand drawn balloons. Definitely.
Antoine, I like the way the balloons flow into the panels for the most part. The only time I thought it did not work well was in the places the balloon ran into two panels, that seemed a bit clumsy to me. Other than that I liked it though.
I like your new technique with the word balloon. Keep up the good work. This was a really good comic, the dialogue just flowed and kept me entertained throughout.
Hey thanks for the comments guys!
Keith: I agree at 50% with you on this one. I had to have some balloons to go over other panels as I had way too much text and I couldn’t cut more (I did remove a lot already). But when I did I made sure the were going in the flow/pace of the situation. Like on panels 4 & 5 it’s all about a conversation between Stubby & Billy while Spike is standing there, mad at the situation.
But, I wouldn’t have done it if it wasn’t for the amount of dialogues I had
Thanks again guys!
Nice work on the bubble style, really. You wouldn’t be reading “How to make a webcomic” would you? They talk about different styles of bubbles, something like you’ve done. It can be effective and you sure made it look like you’ve been doing it for years, nice.
