Welcome (you fools)!

Sunday, October 5th, 2008

Hi everyone!

Welcome to this brand new Webcomic about geek and booze culture!

The strips will appear once a week (for now), every Sundays.

I’m really anxious to get your feedbacks and comments.

I can find any words to say this morning (shouldn’t have drank all these beers…) so I planned ahead and created a video version of what I wanted to talk about this morning.

Once again, I feel like I’m repeating myself but please, tell me what you think and don’t worry about hurting my feelings, be honest and simple! I need it!!!

In the Video, I’m talking about the book “How to Make Webcomic” and Scott Kurtz. You can see his webcomic at PVP Online.

Cheers!

Rock Band 2

Monday, October 6th, 2008

Finally played Rock Band 2 this weekend!

Got it late due to that nice French Law in Quebec regarding video games (only for a stupid booklet…)

Nice, almost everyting I thought could be improved in gameplay has been improved.

- World Tour Solo: Wow, even better!!!! Need to get more fans on Hard? no sweat!!!!, Just switch to vocals, pick up some songs I know well and we’re in business!!!
- World tour: You still get a few fans by playing easy, so if a song is really tough, I don’t feel bad by doing it on easy.
- Freestyle on drum: They lower the volume of the freestyle, which is good. I still think they should keep the regular drum patern in a lower volume tho…
- After reading your comments (or should I say spoilers, lol), I thought I could only unlock songs in Challenge mode. Actually, you can unlock them in the world tour. As soon as you play a song for the 1st time either in Challenge or World Tour mode, the song gets unlock in “Make your setlist”. But since I don’t use my Make your setlist gigs yet in my strategy, no sweat here…

- Quickplay is now awesome. Next time I have friends coming over, I’ll use that for sure!! Did you notice the “Play All” feature next to a category when looking to the full listing? So far I have 19 Classic Rock songs I can play (still have 35+ songs to unlock…)… that creates a nice quick awesome list!!!

- I don’t know if there are a lot of these, but There are a few songs including a drum solo! , doesn’t give that much, but always fun

Tip: Wanna know when you need to stop playing(especially after a bunch of beers) ? If you see twice the same color in  the same row… stop right away….

Geek & Booze forever!!!

Translation? Hell no! Adaptation!

Saturday, October 11th, 2008

Good morning,

Since last Sunday, I’ve received a few comments regarding the quality of my english in the strip.

I read it iover and over again, trying to find what spelling mistakes I could have made. Then a few friends were kind enough to tell what was wrong: My english strip was translated from french and the structure was more french than english.

So I got two amazing friends who offered their help going forward!

Thanks John, but Dave was there first. :D   If he ever disappears into Oblivion, I may contact you, lol!

Now, thanks to Dave, my strip is better that it was!

Dave: thank you so much! (now get back to work!)

Now, obviously, Dave won’t start adapting my blogs as well. What the heck, it will sound as if I’m always drunk when I post something :D .. wait a minute, isn’t that the case anyway?

So, enjoy the “new” version and come bacvk tomorrow for the new strip!

Cheers!

Bit of news

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

Good morning fools!

Just thought I’d provide you with some few updates on the site. Some returning readers may have noticed the changes made to the site. I wasn’t satisfied with the previous logo and the overlal design. So last Saturday, I woke and decided to do it again.

- I registered the site on Buzzcomix So I am inviting to vote for me and the Fools!!! See the button on your right, or simply click here: Vote for the Fools!

- I added an “About” section, which will be providing a Bio of the main characters, this should be completed until the next strip, next Sunday (hopefully)

- I added a “Stuff” section… actually, I’m still unsure what to put in there. I first added this section on the French version of the Fools which, I have contents to put in there such as what the Fools were before becoming a Webcomic. Since they were animated cartoons, I am not planning to translate them. So, hopefully I’ll find “stuff” to put in there.

- I should add I did add an Email Notification plugin to the site!! It allows allowing visitors to subscribe and receiving an email each time there will be a new post. They should You have the choice of categories, allowing them you to receive only the strips as an example notification.

- The Fools are on Facebook too! Click here to see the page and join it!

- Finally, you may see strips with different inking for the upcoming weeks as I am experimenting with different type of media such as: Hardcore Pen, brushes and paper; Tracing what I draw on pare in Illustaror,; using a Wacom Tablet (ouch), etc…

Ok, that’s it for today!

Sketches: Hands

Saturday, January 24th, 2009

Hola Drunken Fools!

Something I’m starting to learn when trying to be an artist, is I need to practice, and spend the time to do it.

So, today, I spent  1 hour and a half sketching hands in order for me to practice ( I should have started doing that a long time ago). I decided to share them with you!

Let me know what you think!

Guest strip for Calamities of Nature

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

Hi there Drunken Fools!

Before Christmas, Tony Piro, creator of Calamities of Nature has a guest strip contest. While being a big fan of his webcomic, I couldn’t resist and I gave it a try. Obviously, I didn’t win but Tony has been cool enough to post it today!

Click on the strip below and it will send you to his post with the full size comic. Thanks Tony!
