Hi all!
Easter Egg Hunt:
First, we are holding an Easter Egg Hunt Contest at Webcomic Planet! There are cool prizes to win! Go there to find all details!
Bookmarks and Postcard:
I finished designing my bookmarks and postcard that I will be using for promoting the comic over at C2E2 in 2 weeks.
Note: The bookmarks design would not look like this without the precious assistance of Ken Drab, creator of Rick the Stick. Ken is an amazing Designer and surely, his inputs were used a lot!! Thanks a lot Ken!
Check this out:
Bookmark – Front Side:
NOTE: You will notice the little slogan on the right. It’s from Noel Curry, creator of DJ Bogtrotter. Noel came in 3rd place for the Elevator Pitch contest and has been SUPER KIND to allow me to use it
Thanks so much Noel!

Postcard: This one is only a modified version of The Incredible Drunk Cover page. There will be the Logo, description and URL in the bak, with room for mini sketches

What do you think?
Hi Drunken Fools,
I need to be cloned…
With C2E2 coming on April 16th, I have so many things to do. As you all know, I do have a day job that has nothing to do with making comics.
- The weekend prior is Easter. So These are two weekends where I can’t use to draw my comic. Meaning, I need to draw at night, after work, when I’m fracking tired.
- I have two bookmarks design and one postcard design to do to have handyfor C2E2.
- I wanted to revamp my own website for C2E2 so the new readers I would potentially get will see a shiny new version of the site.
- I’m not motivated at all these days
I need to be cloned… *sigh!*
P.S. Don’t forget to vote for the elevator pitch!

Hi Drunken Fools!
First of all, let me thank everyone who participated! We received a total of 25 submissions and let me know they were all great submissions.
What Kurt and I did is: we both selected our Top 5 favorites, separately (meaning I had 5 favorites, Kurt had 5 favorites); we ended up having 4 favorites that we had in common.
After that, we discussed live these 4. You can listen to the entire “Mini-Drunken-Cast” by clicking on the link below:
Drunken-Mini-Cast: Elevator Pitch Contest
These are the 4 we had in common(in order of when we received them):
6-The Drunken Fools, where the shenanigans aren’t watered down!
7- The Drunken Fools: Where are my pants?
12- The Drunken Fools – Because sobriety is overrated
24- The Drunken Fools – Beer and Skunks, But Never Skunky Beer
After our discussion, we ended up having having 2 finalists and we want YOU the readers to decide which one we will go for!
Please vote on the Pool in the Right-Column!!! The Poll will end Next Friday, the 26th.
Again, thank you to all the guys who participated, you guys are awesome!
Note: I’ll post the 25 submissions in the Comments.
Note 2: In order to avoid any popularity contest, we didn’t put the name of the submitters yet.
Cheers!
Kurt & Antoine
Hi there Drunken Fools!
It’s Contest Time!!
EDIT: March 20th: Contest is over, please see the next post for details!!
The Drunken Fools need an official Elevator Pitch. The only thing we’ve used since the beginning is “The Drunken Fools – a Drunken Webcomic”
The Fools need something cool, catchy that would reflect the recent turn of events. It would need to have only a few words, think of being able to use it on an ad (from project Wonderful as an example).
What I think is a good catchy name is, as an example, Byron Wilkins’ “1977: Life, One Toke at a Time”.
So the contest is simple, find us a great Elevator Pitch and you win!
Deadline for submission: March 19th 2010
How to submit: through the comments here or send an email to antoine@thedrunkenfools.com
How we will choose a winner? Kurt Sasso and I will review the submissions. If one submission stands up from the other ones, he will decide right away, if we can’t decide between the two of us, we will run a poll with our favorites.
What can you win? A soon to be created T-Shirt! I don’t have a picture yet for you but the design will actually be Billy’s T-Shirt, with the addition of the url below the glass. (if you are here only for the goods, Billy is one of our main character
). NOTE: The T-Shirt order has been made already, the T-Shirt is an XL, American Apparel. Printing will be high quality (screen printing). If the winner can’t wear an XL, I would arrange something with her/him after. I’m planning another order of T-Shirts later
On your set!!!
Wheeeee! Contest!

Hello there Drunken Fools!
I probably said this in the past but one great thing about being part of the Webcomic Planet Collective is we get to meet great people.
One of my colleagues at WCP is a real Renaissance Geek, Keith C. Smith.
Since early 2006, Keith writes and draws a comic called L.O.S.T. NO, you geeks, not that Lost, if you think you’ll see Evangeline Lilly, get lost (lost.. get it? get it?)!. Erm.. ok, back on the subject. As the author says himself, L.O.S.T. is a semi-autobiographical comic about himself. The comic is all about his thoughts on life experiences, with a bit of surreal and fantasy at times.
I am urging you to go read that great comic, now, right away! Hey! what did I just say? NOW Stop reading this and go read the comic!
Cheers.

Hello Drunken Fools!
This week, for the Tanked Tuesday feature, here’s a rough concept design for a fantasy gun. Just wanted to draw one for the kick (or does it have a purpose? hmmm… Time will tell
) I’ve put a 2D and a very badly drawn perspective version
What do you think?
Cheers!

Thank Dionysus, it’s Friday!
Hello Drunken Fools!
There was something I started a while back called “Drunken Spotlight” where I would present a webcomic I like/discovered/etc.. For no reasons, I never did it. So I decided to bring it back! The content of the article has nothing to do with alcohol, being drunk, etc.. But It’s just fit with the website so… erm…
I do have a huge list of webcomics I want to read. The thing is, there is no way I would start reading a webcomic without going through its entire archives, starting from the beginning. So that explains why I have a long list, I don’t always have the time to do so. But I did realize last night that it is easier to do it, when sitting on the couch, Hockey game in the background and the Tablet PC in my hands and start reading a webcomic.
So last night I decided to do that. I picked one webcomic that looked interesting. Surely enough, I went through the entire archives and I loved it!
The webcomic is called “The Dreamer” and is written and drawn by Lora Innes

The Dreamer is about a seventeen years old girl, Beatrice, living two different lives. One life, in the 21st century, where she is an High School Senior student; and the other life, a seventeen years old girl, in a very detailed dream, with her 21st century memories. But this dream brings her back in 1776, right at the beginning of the US Independence War.
The hero is struggling between dream & reality. But today, while she seems to know what reality is and what dream is, will this last? My personal question is, which is really the reality and which is really the dream? Wooooa!
I really enjoyed going through all issues of The Dreamer and will keep following its regular updates going forward.
What really caught my attention and what really made this comic extremely enjoyable for me is the Historical style of the comic. A few years back( few isn’t really the word now), I did study to get my bachelor degree in History. While this University was pushing (a bit too much) for Canadian and Quebec history, I didn’t get the chance to get enough of international history. So I never had the chance to learn more on the US Independance War. I did stopped near the end of my studies, I got tired of Canadian/Quebec History. But when I see comics like The Dreamer, some part of what used to be a passion (history) is coming back to me
Also, I think if you look at the comic, we can easily add a beautiful and amazing art style to the comic. Art and Story are merging together as a whole!
If I had to give one little comment to Lora would be to have a RSS feed for the Comic itself. But at least she does have one for the blog and it will help me to follow the new updates
Also, Lora will be sharing a table at C2E2 with Alan from Rival Angels. Hopefully I’ll get the chance to meet them and have a chat!
Please go check it out!
Cheers!

Hi Drunken Fools!
The subject says a lot! I will be at the C2E2 Chicogo Comic Convention this year! I will be there, promoting the comic, and enjoy my time in Chicago with great guys like Byron Wilkins, Kurt Sasso, Dawn Griffin, Alan Evans and Many More!
While I won’t have a specific table, I’m sure I’ll be easy to find around Byron and Dawn’s table there, in the Webcomic Pavilion!
Also I’ll be wearing Billy’s T-Shirt! Easy to recognize!
I’m getting all excited! This will be my 1st ever Comic Con, even as a visitor!
In other words, I’ll be like
- a kid in a candy store;
- a wrestler with a Protein Shake;
- A teenage girl watching Twilight
Ok, that’s enough!
If you are going there! Make sure to come say hi! We’ll take pictures!
Cheers!

Howdy Drunken Fools!
This was set to be published yesterday but looks like I kept it as a draft…
Anyway, here’s a little preview for next Monday’s strip!
Cheers!

Hi there Drunken Fools!
Here’s a little sneak peek for next Monday’s strip. These are the first 2 panels of the page. Get ready for a grand finale between Calvin & Spike.
And when I say “Grand Finale” I only mean the contest, not the current storyline, we are justgetting started!
Cheers!
